Patriotic Flags, Cincinnati
30 x 24 inches
Signed Lower Left
Mark passionately paints in the tradition of the Impressionists. He seeks to portray beauty and emotion in his paintings by capturing the motion of the moment--people walking the snowy streets of the City with patriotic flags flowing... families playing at the beach... boats reflecting in a calm harbor
While painting, Mark uses all of his senses to go beyond the obvious. His skill can be seen in his colorful, atmospheric and light-filled compositions. To him, success starts by choosing the right design. He believes success is fully realized when he captures feelings that are important to him such as serenity, optimism, wonder, and joy.
Mark was born on Long Island in 1956. Early on, he was taught to draw by his mother, Elizabeth Daly and by Woodhull Young, a marine painter and curator of the Vanderbilt Museum. Since 2007, Mark has been blessed to be mentored by CW Mundy, a master artist.
Always striving to improve, Mark travels worldwide to paint directly from nature. His positive energy and creativity seem to grow with each new journey. To quote Mike Compton (Grammy Award winning musician), Mark Daly retains the childlike curiosity to always see something new in the commonplace... always curious, always searching, always energetic, always enthusiastic.
Daly's work has been featured in solo and group shows and is in many private and corporate collections. He has received prominent awards in national juried art exhibitions. He is a member of the American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America, Cincinnati Art Club and The Greenacres Artist Guild.
Mark has been blessed with several talents. He is a composer and performer of original mandolin music and a voting member of the Grammy's. He has been Founder/CEO of several successful businesses and is author of 5 Steps to Board Success. Mark graduated from Cornell University (AB) and the University of Pennsylvania (MBA). He resides in Ohio with his wife, Gigi. They have three sons, Gregg, Steven and Patrick.
