Charles F. DeKlyn (American, 1865–1958)

Charles F. DeKlyn was a versatile painter known for landscapes, marine scenes, portraits, and figure studies. Born in Westchester County, New York, he trained in New York City and Paris from 1886 to 1891 before returning to Cleveland to teach at the Cleveland Art Club and the Cleveland School of Art. A founding member of the Cleveland Brush and Palette Club, he exhibited at the National Academy of Design in the 1890s and was a member of the Society of Western Artists.
