Jens Jacob Herring Krug Jensen (1898–1978) was a Danish-American artist renowned for his contributions to both ceramic decoration and painting. Born in Denmark, Jensen immigrated to the United States in 1927 and soon joined Cincinnati's celebrated Rookwood Pottery in 1928, where he worked until 1948. His modern representations of plants, animals, and nudes diverged from the more conservative Rookwood norm, making his work stand out among his peers at the pottery.

Jensen's artistic endeavors extended beyond ceramics; he was also an accomplished painter. His paintings often exhibit influences of German Expressionism, characterized by bold colors and abstract forms.

In 1931, Jensen married fellow Rookwood artist Elizabeth Barrett (1903–1987). Following the closure of Rookwood Pottery in 1948, the couple relocated to Ripley, Ohio. Over the next three decades, Jensen produced an impressive body of paintings that have been acquired by prestigious public and private collections worldwide.

Jensen's legacy is marked by his ability to blend traditional craftsmanship with modernist aesthetics, leaving an indelible mark on both the ceramic and fine art worlds.
