Nina Talbot is a New York painter known for her vibrant portraits that weave personal history with broader social narratives. Her work captures the lives of everyday individuals like veterans, immigrants, and neighborhood workers, bringing visibility to untold stories through a fusion of classical portraiture, oral history, and documentary detail. Early in her career, she painted neighborhood storefronts and small businesses in Brooklyn as part of a series called "Vendors of Newkirk", capturing the disappearing landscape of local “mom and pop” shops. This series not only served as a visual preservation of a changing neighborhood, but also laid the groundwork for her lifelong focus on community, memory, and unsung individuals. Some of these works were later featured in the Brooklyn Historical Society Flatbush Neighborhood Guide.

Her solo exhibitions include The Bronx Museum of Art, The Brooklyn Historical Society, and The U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center, with group shows at The Brooklyn Museum, Staten Island Museum, and international venues through the U.S. State Department’s Art in Embassies program.

Talbot’s paintings are in the collections of the Brooklyn Historical Society, Cape Ann Museum, and Procter & Gamble, among others. Her public art includes a mural at the Polish Jewry Heritage Center in Dynów, Poland, reflecting her recent work exploring Jewish heritage in the former Galicia region. A graduate of the High School of Music and Art, Talbot continued her studies at the Art Students League and New York Studio School. For over 35 years, she has served as an educator and consultant with institutions such as Brooklyn College and the Lincoln Center Institute.
