"Painting for me is a solitary, inward process. I try to depict nature the way it
was at the moment I encountered it, where memory meets place. In attempting to paint the color of light my work may fall between Impressionism and Tonalism. These are real places that I am assembling and simplifying.
I'm trying to take the noise out."
