Michael Scott (American, 1952- ) was trained as a figure painter at the Kansas City Art Institute and the University of Cincinnati. His landscape work has been inspired by his childhood experiences in the Arkansas Ozark’s White River basin. The fields and hills of his grandparents’ farms were his first museums. Scott has participated in museum exhibits at the Corcoran Museum in Washington D.C., the Virginia Museum in Richmond, the Knoxville Museum of Art, and the Anchorage Museum of History and Art. He was also a featured artist in many local and regional private collections. His works have become outstanding additions to the established public collections of the Art Academy of Cincinnati, the Butler Institute, and the Cincinnati Museum of Art. His work can also be found in corporate collections of Cincinnati Bell, Drackett Corporation, NYNEX, Brown-Foreman and Arthur Andersen of Chicago.
