Wolfgang A. Ritschel "Wired For Color"

WOLFGANG  A. RITSCHEL

WIRED FOR COLOR

Opening Friday, June 8 from 5 - 8 pm

Exhibition continues through July 13

Please join us to view over 40 paintings by Cincinnati artist Wolfgang A. Ritschel and enjoy his figurative-expressionist painting style and use of vibrant colors through his depictions of Cincinnati, the Southwest and European scenes.

“Ritschel's personal concept in art concerns the relationship of color, line and perspective. It was a trip to see Cuzco, high in the Peruvian Andes, which launched this line of thought. There the air was so pure, so thin, that there was no discernible  diminishment of color intensity as the surrounding countryside receded from view. Everything was as vivid miles away as it was looking down at his own feet. In this ancient historical city and its ruins, in this least suspected of places, Ritschel discovered a basis for his originality.  By overlapping imagery and decreasing size, perspective would be served without sacrificing the color he so loves.”   - Fran Watson
