Tetsuo Araki (1937-1984)

Tetsuo Araki was born in Tokyo, Japan on June 1st, 1937. He studied printmaking at the Musashino Art University, a private art university which teaches fine art and industrial design, offering master’s degrees and doctorates. Araki moved to Paris where he studied intaglio printmaking at the atelier of German printmaker Johnny Friedlaender. Araki was best known for his color aquatints and etchings.

Tetsuo Araki died in Paris in 1984 at the age of 47
