John Hewitt trained as a fine artist and printmaker and has completed a PhD on the role of memory in reportage drawing. Since 2015 he has been making daily sketchbook drawings that are largely rooted in the encounters of dog walking. Selected images are reworked into digital prints. John’s work has been extensively published and shown in Britain and abroad. Examples are housed in collections that include the V&A, the Museum of London and the Government Art Collection. John was awarded the Hugh Casson Prize for Drawing at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2016 and is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Art.
