Braldt Bralds was born in the Netherlands and attended the Grafische School. In 1978 he moved to the United States. His work has appeared in Time Magazine, Newsweek, Omni, TV Guide, Rolling Stone and National Geographic.

Bralds is an instructor at the School of Visual Arts in New York and lectures worldwide. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Art Institutes International.

Hi work has appeared numerous times on the covers of Time, Newsweek, Der Spiegel, Omni Magazine, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone, Atlantic Monthly and in Esquire, Playboy, Penthouse and National Geographic.  Braldt has  also illustrated book covers for publishers around the world.  

In the late 1990s, Braldt stepped back from his illustration career to focus on his fine art beginning with a body of work  exhibited at Gerald Peters Gallery in Santa Fe.
